47% = ~500

So, this may come as a surprise to you; and in fact it *should* come as a surprise to you: MySpace still exists (in some form). I learned of its continued existence when it was announced that MySpace was going to lay off some 47% of its staff. At first I wondered, "are they laying off a fractional person, because how do you lay off 47% of three people?" and then the announcement continued, "...about 500 employees." How does such an irrelevant entity need more than a thousand employees? What do they do all day? Surf Facebook?

I may have only known of the USPS's creed from watching Seinfeld, but I assumed there was some legitimacy to it. Here it is:

And neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged, will stay us from the swift completion of our appointed rounds. Ever.

Except for Monday. And Tuesday. And probably today, too.

Read it or watch it:

George: Shouldn't you be at work by now?
Newman: Work? It's raining!
George: So?
Newman: I called in sick. I don't work in the rain!
George: You don't work in the rain? You're a mailman! "Neither rain nor sleet nor..." It's the first one!
Newman: I was never that big on creeds.
