Black Diamond Cyborg

The new crampons finally arrived. I've never used these pro-style crampons with the metal strap in front instead of the plastic clip, but it seems secure enough. The metal strap is kind of sharp though so I'm sending them back if it starts tearing up the front of my precious Baturas.

My Grivels have a snow release device that's supposed to stop snow from accumulating; but I never took the time to verify that it actually worked. Either way, these Black Diamonds aren't sold with glacier travel in mind.

I'll get a chance to break them in on the 27th in New Hampshire but I think I'll lug the Grivels along for the ride just in case. They haven't let me down yet.
