Bye Bye Camera

Bye Bye Camera

When I got to baggage claim at Laguardia yesterday evening, my pack was second out. As soon as I picked it up I noticed that the top zipper pocket was completely open. My belt, gps and camera were missing. Great.

I zipped it up and started heading over to the baggage services office when a baggage services employee walked up to me holding my belt and gps. Two out of three ain't bad, but I would have preferred to lose the belt over the camera. Apparently the belt and gps had come out on the conveyer belt earlier. The camera was nowhere to be found.

She filled out a baggage claim form and gave me the phone numbers for the Salt Lake City and Cincinnati airport last and found offices. I guess I need to call the Colorado Springs airport, too.

So, I guess I have to buy a new camera. Sucks. I prefer to save money. I can take my heavy camera with me to Florida on Oct 2, but I'm going to need a light-weight camera for my Grand Canyon trip on Oct 11. Yeah, for those of you keeping track, I'll be heading for the Grand Canyon Death March on my birthday.

I wasn't terribly excited about the whole Grand Canyon trip until I got back from Colorado Springs. Now, I'm really excited. Forty-eight miles. Twenty-four hours. Freezing cold and blistering hot. It's going to be great.

So, yeah, if my camera doesn't turn up in the next week and a half I'll have to buy another. Uggh.
