A couch, dishes, chess

I've been waiting on my first paycheck ever since I arrived in NY, before purchasing the more expensive "necessities". And due to a paperwork snafu, I had to wait a month for that first paycheck - which arrived yesterday. So, I've been sleeping on the floor for five weeks and today I bought a couch. It arrives Wednesday. I also bought dishes and flatware, because I'm tired of paper plates and plastic utensils - and they arrive Sunday. And I bought a chess strategy book so that this-one-person-who-is-almost-as-terrible-at-chess-as-I-am and I can stop just randomly moving the pieces around the board. Or, I could just keep the book to myself. That would certainly be more beneficial to me. Hmm.
