Find-a-Potty
This was an app idea I had years back. A friend inspired it. Her neighbor's house was undergoing an extensive remodel. The construction crew's porta-potty was placed at the road. Throughout the day, random passers-by would drive past, stop, back up, hop out, use the potty and drive off.
Some time later, I heard about an app that would let you buy one-time access to corporate bathrooms (which can be incredibly nice). You drop $10, and some enterprising worker bee meets you at the door, shows you to some posh bathroom, and then you're out the door and back on your way.
My app idea, which predates that other bathroom app, was more of a Yelp! for public access bathrooms though; not as much a white-glove service like that other app. On a practical level, maybe you have a baby and you're looking for a family bathroom with a diaper changing area; something with at least a 4-star rating on cleanliness. Filter the bathrooms in the area, and bam! When you're done, you answer a couple questions about the cleanliness, accessibility and features of the bathroom for future patrons.
I got as far as an interactive map, schema, database and some mock data – before I lost interest or something. One amongst hundreds of such endeavors.
I feel this.
