Growth of the Garlic

My garlic is growing. This realization was more disconcerting than I would have thought. I realize now how much I like to think of my food as being dead ... or not living in the first place ... but certainly not in a state of growth.

This reminds me of something Penn and Teller said (I think) which I'll proceed to butcher (pun ... ha):

"Just because I like to eat beef, doesn't mean that I want to meet the cow."
