I'm Going Back!

I've been talking with a couple people I met on my Rainier trip and they want to go up McKinley. So, the three of us our planning a May, 2009 McKinley expedition - sans the guide company. RMI is great and all, but they charge around $5,200 per person for the trip. That's not a terrible price when you consider that the trip can last nearly a month. Anyway, it'll be nice to save that money.

Additionally, after I complete Liberty Ridge (on Rainier) in June of 2009, I'll sign myself up for RMI's West Rib (on McKinley) for 2010 (have to plan these things in advance).

If all goes as planned, I'll end up climbing McKinley three years in a row - two different routes - and once self-guided. The most costly nature of this is that it adds up to nearly three months of vacation time. Oh well. Good exercise, if nothing else.
