It's Safe to Look at the Moon
From the article regarding the up-coming lunar eclipse:
Unlike a solar eclipse, it is safe to look at a lunar eclipse – which is when the moon passes through the earth's shadow as cast by the sun. During the total phase, the moon appears to have a dark reddish cast.
So, now you know. It's safe to look at the moon.
I'm wondering where the best (local) place is to observe this event. I could double up the moon watching with a camping trip and watch from the top of some North Georgia mountain. Hmm.
