Jubilee
I just stopped by the grocery store that is ACROSS THE STREET from my new apartment to pick up some food. I was eager to find out whether this would be a good place to shop regularly (when I'm not using Fresh Direct). It's great. They have lots of health foods and such, but they also have major name brands - which is more than I can say for the Whole Foods in Chelsea, which doesn't have a single brand name that I recognize.
It was a little after 9pm when I ran over to Jubilee. I was a bit worried that they would be closed by now and that I'd just have to starve tonight, or be forced to wander the city looking for some place that's open. Their doors were opened and I tried to find an "Hours" sign on the front as I walked in, but I couldn't. When I was checking out I asked the cashier how late they were open and she said, "24 hours". That's awesome. When I don't have what I want at 3am, I can walk 50 feet to the grocery store and just get it.
Now that I think about it, I actually move vertically more when going to the grocery store than I do across the ground.
I'm liking this new apartment more every moment.
