Mac vs PC
I've fallen prey to this conversation (which usually quickly becomes an argument) more than once. Is there a "Mac Tax"? Do Macs cost more than PCs? Etc. Someone apparently put together a fairly comprehensive review of the matter in response to Microsoft's recent attempt to try their hand at competitive advertising ... again. Why don't they just give up? If the dork at school would quit trying to be like everyone else he'd probably fit in a lot better. Microsoft needs to figure this out. They can't be cool. They're Microsoft.
Anyway. Much like the oft-argued, can-you-prove-that-God-exists debate, they're asking the wrong question.
If you're choosing a computer (and its operating system) based largely on its price, then it really doesn't matter which computer you buy, because you probably won't be doing anything with it - besides taking up valuable desk space. After the initial rush associated with freeing the shiny, and momentarily dust-free computer from the confines of its box, plugging it in and turning it on, you'll hit a lull and think only, "what now?", while you try to ward off buyer's remorse.
