McKinley Training - Week 4 of 26

Thanksgiving sort of interfered with my normal training stuff, but since I was in Missouri, I took the opportunity to do some running outside. Which was awesome. Treadmills will steal your soul.

Monday I ran 71 flights of stairs. For the first time, I started timing my stair running so that I could more closely monitor my progress. The times for the three complete sets (of 21 flights) that I did were:

2:58
3:10
3:19

Tuesday I ran 50 flights of stairs. I cut 9 seconds off the first set and 5 seconds off the second set. But then I didn't bother to do a third set. Oh well. The times for the two complete sets (of 21 flights) that I did were:

2:49
3:05

Thursday morning, while I was in Missouri, and shortly before we ate, I ran about three miles (round trip), along a nice hilly road. Seriously good run. I really do loathe treadmills.

Friday I spent five hours throwing logs up a hill in what was one of the more brutal workouts I've ever done. We were moving piles of logs on my parent's property up the hill and stacking them on the front porch. It was a good sort of ad-hoc workout. My arms are still sore.
