Packing for BAAM

My pack (Osprey Atmos 35) arrived and it really is small. Small is what I want though. Today I started stomping stuff into it to see how close I'm going to be cutting it.

There's no hurry to purchase the tent (Black Diamond Hilight), and I had brief thoughts of taking along the Mountain Hardwear EV-3 I picked up in Seattle for 50% off, but in addition to weighing an extra four pounds over the Hilight (which is significant when you're hoping to keep things under thirty pounds), it also takes up about three times as much space in the pack. It's a beautiful tent. It'll be a shame to have to leave it behind. Anyway, I stomped the EV-3 into the pack just to size things up, along with some water bottles, the sleeping bag (Marmot Helium 15) and a bivy tent (to simulate clothing). Once I add in the bike maintenance stuff, flip-flops, food, gadgets, etc., it's going to be close.

I'm taking the pack out to the Blood Mountain loop for its inaugural run tomorrow morning.
