Recruiters

I was asleep. The phone rang. I stumbled over to the phone and tried to get my eyes to focus on the number. Probably a recruiter. Sent the call to voicemail. I made my way back to bed thinking that I could still claim the last eight minutes of sleep. Phone rang again. Same number. I answer.

Him: "Hello. May I speak with Curtis Jones?"

*Thick accent. Obviously a recruiter.*

Me: "Yes. I am he."

Him: "Hello. Yes. Okay. My name is [who knows] from [who knows]. Did you get my email?"

Me: "No. I was asleep. That is why I didn't answer the first time you called."

*Long pause*

Him: "If you will just give me your email address, I will send it again."

Me: "Look, I just accepted another opportunity, so its not really important."

Him: "Oooh. Now I understand. Okay, thank you."
