It turns out the red meat allergy from a tick bite isn't ALL bad. The fear, of course, is that you'll live the rest of your life without eating food from mammals (red meat in particular). This is true, but at least we see now that it won't necessarily be a long life. It's not much of a silver lining, but it is something.

A few of the kids and I did an evening hike before dinner, chasing the sunset back home just before it got dark.

It only took about ten years, but I finally relented to wearing one of those kid-carrying front-pack things. You certainly don‘t have to wonder what the kids is up to, since he’s all up in your face the whole time. Also, apparently, it is good for lulling to sleep.
