Rubik's Cube Update

I think I've progressed just about as far as I can with the simple by-layers method that I am now well acquainted with. I got it down to seventy-eight seconds once, but I can only reasonably assume that I'll always have it under two minutes. This was a good way to start, but it is time to move on.
I found mention of the Fridrich method that has allowed people to solve the cube is seventeen seconds. Obviously ones finger dexterity and other technique related issues come into play (for instance, she assumes that each rotation will take just one-third of a second on average). I'll have to work on technique. If I can do just one rotation per second, I should be able to reduce my time down to slightly under one minute, which would fulfill my original goal.
Instead of having to memorize just half a dozen algorithms, one has to memorize at least fifty-three. That should keep me entertained on my flight to Atlanta this weekend.
