Thank You Sir May I Have Another
It took a full two weeks, but I'm now of the opinion that I'd do the grueling, four day hike again, given the opportunity. I think I'd prefer to take an extra day, to be spent on the summit, so that I could explore the caldera, and maybe walk all of the way around. Or maybe spend two days going up, a day on the summit, and then hike all of the way down in one day. Hmm. Some day.... And now I know to tape my toes. Lessons learned the hard way.
I put together a fairly detailed account of the trip including taking the track logs from my GPS and over-laying them on satellite imagery from Google Earth. It made for some cool pictures.
Lastly, here I am, about to embark on my journey, with feet feeling better than they would for the next several weeks (unbeknownst to me at the time). My neighborhood doesn't look quite that picturesque in real life.
