Wind-ow

We were driving along when the wind started "whistling" because the window was slightly open. The kid in the car with me asked what that sound was. I explained. And then we both started wondering about the word "window" and "wind". Are they related? Like, do they have a common etymology?

I care enough to ponder it, but not enough to actually looking it up.
