All Done with the Ice Climbing
We are finally done with ice climbing. Three days of it. Well, today was more of a half day. It's just exhausting after a while.
Ouray Ice Park is amazing, although I understand there's little point in showing up on a weekend unless you get out the door super early and are content to hang out at the one climb all day. Weekdays on the other hand - we basically had the place to ourselves.
I took tons of helmet cam footage, but it's not entirely exciting stuff. It'll need a lot of editing before it'll be worth sharing.
Shuttle ride back to Grand Junction picks us up at 3am. That's gonna suck.
Im coming back here as soon as possible ... after my arms rest.

As you might expect in an ice park, all of the climbs were very kicked in. If you try not to think about it too much, your ego really gets a boost from completing so many climbs successfully.
South Park
It takes bloody forever to get to South Park, and a month ago, I was told, the ground was all melted out making it impossible to belay from below. It was nicely frozen over this week however. We climbed: Trapper Keeper (WI4), Cartmanland (WI4) and Asspen (WI4).
New Funtier
While not as far of a trek as South Park, New Funtier still takes a short while to get to. We climbed: Captain Goddamnit (WI3) and Miller Lite (WI4).
Schoolroom
A relatively short trek, these climbs are mostly anchored from metal scaffolding that extends the width of the width of Schoolroom. Traversing the metal stair case is quite possibly one of the least fun things I've ever done. The ice descends all the way to the ground, making instruction very convenient. We climbed: Teacher's Pet (WI3), Reading (WI4) and Riting (WI4).
