The Call Into the Wild: The Story of a Retarded Dog
I plowed through The Call of the Wild [1] this evening (while waiting for 10.6.5 to download at Starbucks) - a story of a beast both spirited and ferocious (not to be mistaken with Into the Wild, the story of a retarded boy) - and I found that London's clarity of writing made reading a simple, mesmerizing joy instead of a chore requiring note-taking.
If there's one thing to take notice of in this book it's that there's no dialog, save a handful of succinct exclamations and conversations.
Also, I want to go back to Alaska.
Also, Indians suck.
