So, the last remaining horse slaughterhouse where horses are butchered for human consumption lost in court its challenge of the Illinois law that makes the practice illegal. I guess horses are somehow distinct from cows or pigs in a way that makes their consumption unconscionable. Whatever.

Some dude from The Humane Society is quoted as having said:

The court has slammed the doors of the last horse slaughter plant in the country, to the great relief of the citizens of Illinois and horse advocates everywhere.

Horse advocates?? What do they do - advocate horsiness? I leave you with a Futurama quote, from the stadium concession stand guy:
