Granny is no Slouch

I've been biking at the Greenway instead of in the mountains while I wait for my replacement brakes. My current Avid BB5's are no longer trustworthy enough to slow me down on some of the hills/corners. Meanwhile I also swapped out the Shimano M324 pedals for A530's. They're amazing. I'm a little annoyed at my LBS for suggesting the M324's in the first place. The cleat could always move around way too much no matter how I adjusted the tension. But these A530's ... I can clip in much easier and there's NO motion of the cleat at all.

Anyway, my inspiration for this post is this old lady I've seen at the Greenway several times now. She is easily in her 70's; possibly older. Her bike is a cross between a hybrid and a beach cruiser. She moves fast. And she attacks on the hills. She is up standing on the pedals every time I see her going up a hill. She is no slouch. It's quite a sight to see.
