MovieID
This is one a few apps I wish I had maintained. I had a good reason for abandoning it; it didn't die of disinterest. It was unavoidable, unfortunately. Anyway.
The app served two important purpose for me.
- When I've got a "thing" in mind (movie, actor, something), and I can't think of its name, but I know of a connection, this made it easy to jump from actor, to movie, to another actor, to another movie, or whatever.
- Is this movie worth watching? The thumbnails view took your movie and per-minute (?) thumbnails, so you could quickly see what a movie was about and decide if it was worth watching.
I particularly enjoyed MovieID because it wasn't web-based. It was fast, native and efficient. If I recall correctly, I started with taking the single-file data dump from IMDB (do they still offer that?). Or maybe I just used their query API. I forget.
Maybe I'll resurrect it one day.

I don't get how a baby can sleep for ~12 hours, wake up for a bit, and then need a 2-hour nap. Not like "I could use a nap," but like, "I'm tired and I'm cranky and I NEED a nap."
