My Mouth
I was minding my own business, working away in my office when I heard something going on outside. Two somethings in fact, which was more than enough cause for me to go investigate. I glanced around for the Glock, and remembered that I had left it in the other room. Oh well. I peered through the windows and saw two cops walking around my house, so I went out the front door to see what was going on. I related the ensuing conversation to a friend afterwards, so his comments are included.
Me: What's going on?
*Cop 1 took the lead, while Cop 2 stood off a bit, slightly staggered.*
Cop 1: We got a call that your alarm is going off.
Me: Huh. Well I don't have an alarm.
Cop 1: You don't have an alarm?
Me: I don't have an alarm.
Cop 1: Is this where you live?
Me: I hope so.
*No response from cop.*
Me: Yes.
*Friend: and then they beat the crap out of you?*
Cop: Is this 207?
Me: Yes.
Cop 2: Dispatch, confirm numbers 207.
Radio: Number is 205.
*Cops walk next door.*
Another exciting day in Cherokee county.
