GaN Pro Desktop Fast Charger...Garbage

The brandless GaN charger I picked off Amazon had one trick: power only whatever I plugged in last, starving everything else. The replacement was barely better. My bigger-picture lesson: a company that sells a product with no brand name probably knows exactly how bad it is.

Fat by Default

Setting up health insurance, I was greeted by an infographic of pudgy, frumpy avatars for taking your waist measurement. Were fit avatars too offensive? Then there's the ICHRA scam: I have to buy a plan I'll never use just to unlock my employer's contributions. What a disaster.

Wanting good recorded hymns for the drive to church, I asked Grok, which pointed me to public domain choir recordings on Archive.org via LibriVox. I picked an album-like-thing and downloaded the first one. It is literally people speaking the words of the hymns. What in the world.

The Money is not Worth It

I've had amazing jobs and terrible ones. One manager kept reminding me I was paid too much; that wasn't even his worst blunder. The takeaway after a lot of jobs: if you find the right one, stick with it. If you're in the wrong one, work like hell to leave. The money is not worth it.

Bank Fail

Going paperless at my new bank (which I severely dislike) sounded simple. Instead it meant clicking every tab like defusing a bomb, then sending a plea into a "Contact Us" void and waiting two full days for a human to flip the switch. For "security", obviously.

A New Hate (GA ZLY-564)

Instagram is Dead

I weened myself off Instagram not because it was bad but because it was too good. Years later I came back, and now every picture has music I can't mute and the feed is littered with people I don't follow. Talk about losing the plot.
