Some of My Faves, If I'm Allowed to Say That
The VBS coordinator called my kids some of her faves. My first thought was that she had us confused with another family. Then they came home and ran the house: dinner plated, dishes done, groceries chosen. Maybe she's onto something.
I got as much work done this morning as I could, in anticipation of spending several hours shuttling the family around. And other distaff.
The kids woke up, ate their breakfast, packed their stuff for VBS, and then we all piled in the car and left. We first dropped K, H, J and A off at VBS and then pointed the car West to meet up with S's parents near the state line for the hand-off. S and W are officially gone for the week. I'm going to miss playing with that little baby all the time. His increasingly demanding nature will be less missed.

I guess I don't get out enough, because weekday traffic was just awful; way worse than I had expected. It wasn't a rush hour thing, either; it was late morning through early afternoon, and the traffic was just unrelenting.
I've found a strong correlation between leaving the house and getting stuck in traffic, so I'm thinking I should endeavor to leave the house less. Few things make me happier than parking the car in the garage and walking away from it.
