Stroustrup!

There are many downsides to working in a large, corporate environment, and this is not one of them. Bjarne Stroustrup will be giving a talk on C++0x this week. That's going to be so freakin' awesome. I'm going to try to get him to sign my The C++ Programming Language book.

Update: I got my The C++ Programming Language book signed. I headed up to the auditorium a half hour early (with two co-workers in tow). Much to my dismay, three people were ahead of me on the stairs leading up to the entrance. They stopped as they approached the top of the stairs (that's an important detail) and asked me, "isn't this where Stroustrup is supposed to be?" I seized the opportunity and leapt to the top of the stairs (thus ensuring my victory at the first person present), and hurriedly shuffled towards the doors while shouting back, "No! I think that's down on the 3rd floor." As it turns out, they didn't know that they were a half hour early, so I don't know if it would have really counted had they actually beat me there.
