I'm one of six, with dozens of cousins, yet the Jones name is nearly gone. My grandfather's four boys yielded eight, who yielded just three (I've got four). To beat my four, you have to go back to Allen Jones (1794-1875), blessed with eight boys. His record is safe.

Programming and parenting coexist beautifully for the few months a baby can't squirm, roll, or crawl. After that it's nearly impossible to get work done, though it stays fun to try. He rolled over at just shy of four months, noted for future reference.

Kevin's crib arrived, so I assembled the whole thing to surprise my wife. Legs, headboard, side rails, mattress, done. And then it would not fit through the door. So I took it mostly apart, moved the pieces in, and rebuilt it. Voila.
