I have a laptop full of my life's work and I want whole-disk encryption. PGP can't keep up with OS X releases, CheckPoint's site thwarts every attempt to pay them, and WinMagic won't take my gmail address. How is our economy still standing?

Microsoft's incoming VP of Corporate Communications praises the company's belief in "the strategic power of communications." Not innovation, not advancing the state of the art. Mostly FUD. It's amusing to watch someone so plainly fail to cover that up.

Switching to AT&T for the iPhone meant leaving T-Mobile, whose customer service was always great and always available. I called AT&T about a feature. They were closed. Closed? Why don't they just shut off cell service after 8pm too?

Getting to my desk means two escalators and a flight of stairs. I always keep walking on the escalators, and I've formed many sweeping generalizations about the people who just stand there and block everyone in.

Two cops were walking around my house. I went out to ask why; turns out it was an alarm I don't have, at a number that wasn't mine. Another exciting day in Cherokee county.

It finally arrived at 19:18 this evening, much to my surprise, and only a full week late on a two-day delivery. Never again.

Still no package. A trace agent and I both failed to reach anyone at the local delivery center, so she sent a message and told me to call back tomorrow. I leave Friday. Meanwhile, UPS just made three on-time deliveries.
