Family Games
S agreed to play some card game with the kids. I don't recall which game, but the kids were fully invested. It was the only moment that this giant circle table in the living room ceased to annoy me – it takes up way too much space in a tiny room.
A mom group that S was scheduled to hang out with (at the pool where "the kids can swim while we talk") in the afternoon cancelled the hangout due to thunderstorms in the forecast. With a little encouragement from me, S headed to the pool anyway, taking all five kids with her. K was not excited. He wasn't required to put on his swim shorts, but he had to bring them along. It took him about half a second after arriving, to decide he was going to run to the bathrooms and change into his swim shorts and jump in the pool. Who could have seen that coming??
