What a Manager Says vs What a Manager Means
My favorite is the first one about the "team player" thing. Why must you have an emotional attachment to the job? I think the parallel that statement implies is that of a sports team. With players being paid millions of dollars. For that amount of money you can reasonably expect (seemingly) genuine concern from me. And you can even make deals with other companies to move me around as you see fit. I can't say the same thing for a 9-5 office job though.

Here's a good snippet:
Manager says: "We are reorganizing the department, but your job is safe.
Manager means: "It's very easy to upload your resume to Monster. You should try it."
