Awesome Kids

On short notice we hauled the whole hoard of kids to a lawyer's office for hours. They drew, read, and watched a show with almost no complaining, not because they enjoyed it but because they understood. Parenting is hard work, and important work.

Day trip exploring Lake Allatoona with the two oldest

On short notice, we took our hoard of children with us to a lawyer's office (no babysitter was available on short notice). The lengthy drive back-and-forth bookended multiple hours in his office. The kids drew in their coloring books, played quietly, read library books and watched a show on an iPad, with essentially no complaining. It wasn't that they enjoyed their time in the office, but they understood that it was unavoidable and that complaining was not appropriate.

If you ever want to test how your kids are doing....

Oh, yeah, on the way home the baby cried for more than an hour until he finally fell asleep. That was...fun.
