Bring out the Gimp

The GIMP is purported by some to be a Photoshop alternative; and it's free (perhaps it's only advantage over Photoshop). Of course, the people who purport this, all have one thing in common: they've never actually used Photoshop.

Recently, The GIMP struggled to its tenth year of existence. In recognition of this (truly an amazing feat), they held a 10th anniversary contest to create a new splash screen, Gimp Splash 10. Slashdotcomments follow:

Person 1:"Gimp Splash 10". That sounds like a movie you don't want your girlfriend finding under your couch.
Person 1: For me especially, because my girlfriend would probably tell my wife.
Person 2: I've seen it, and they're both in it.
