Five Guys Online Fail
While heading for a Chipotle I made an unexpected detour for a near-by Five Guys burger place. Absolutely delicious. And I noticed that they seem to start the burgers when you order. That's good for freshness, but not so good if you're in a hurry. It's well worth the wait though. But this time I placed my order online. The ad claimed, "skip the line". I'm not sure which line they're referring to though, because you still have to stand in the order line like everyone else - I learned when I went straight to the "pick up" line. I asked the cashier about this, after I finally arrived at the front of the order line. He explained, "well, if you order fries, then we start them as soon as you arrive." But I didn't order fries. "Yes, but if you did order fries...." So what's the point in ordering online? He didn't have a satisfactory answer.
I could have been in and out of the store thirty seconds if someone could just hand me my order, which I saw sitting amongst a few other orders, in the corner.
It's not like the several minutes I spent in the store was that costly; but when they obviously have the ability to cut that time down from minutes to seconds and yet they choose not to....
Whatever.
