Multiplication Table Drills

My father worked some voodoo magic with a spreadsheet back when Excel fit entirely on a single-side floppy and concocted a multiplication table drill program that he inflicted upon us every evening after school.

Of course it wasn't too much later that I actually appreciated the benefits of having most everything under 20x20 memorized.

This evening, after years of pondering and procrastination, I whipped up a simple Cocoa app to once again be inflicted on me. The interface is crude but everything works. If I actually expend the effort to make it look nice and work well, I wonder how many kids might themselves learn to loathe this app. Brings a smile to my face.

Maybe it's just the part of my brain associated with visual design that is retarded, but I haven't had any epiphanies regarding how to make a multiplication drill program look good. I guess I'll come up with something eventually....
