My plant, part I, day 12
This plant (hereafter "Plant") represents the sum of all of the authorized, non-human life in this house (and consequently, one-third of all of the authorized life). There also exists (in this house) plenty of non-authorized, non-human life, but such things are much harder to photograph; I'll call that episode Bathrooms and Bacteria. Hmm.
Plant was adopted some three years ago, and lived in the same tiny pot his entire life (in true negligent-foster-[plant]-parent style).

At first, life was good and Plant grew quickly, and had many leaves, but after a while Plant became root-bound and could only support two branches. As one branch would die, the leaves would fall off, and another branch would quickly replace it. After many months of such behavior, I finally got around to buying a bag of potting soil and a new (larger) pot.
Now, two weeks after being re-potted, Plant is doing much better. Plant has three new branches growing. Here is one of them - only 12 days old. Isn't he precious?

Despite recent improvements, times were not always so jolly [queue dramatic music]. Plant was a house-warming present, although I have yet to be able to notice any significant amount of heat dissipation. Quite to the contrary, due to this whole photosynthesis thing, Plant greedily sucks up precious rays of sunlight for its own avaricious desires. Plant might look cute and green, but on the inside it's all me, me, me. After three years, Plant can be best described as ridiculously needy; requiring water nearly Every Month. And then this whole re-potting thing. It never ends.
More updates as events warrant.
