NAS
My Western Digital NAS arrived this afternoon. It didn't take long to get it all RAID-0 configured. "Fatty" seemed an appropriate name for the 8TB beast (4 x 2TB). Hopefully one day that amount of storage will seem inconsequential. I'm still waiting on that crystaline storage from IBM (or whomever it was).
I've begun to wonder if drive capacity is increasing faster than transfer speed. Meaning, I could never actually fill a NAS (which writes at ~15MB/sec over AFP) if I upgraded as often as possible.
It's going to take about a week to copy everything over and by that time 3TB drives will be available and I'll have to start all over.
I love saltine crackers.
