New Trick
I headed to the Southern Greenway park for a leisurely automobile-free afternoon ride and decided to see if I could hands-free the whole thing; or at least the bulk of it. So, there's one blind turn at the top of a hill onto a narrow bridge that I wasn't willing to take without a more commanding control of the bike. And then there's the People Variable. The pedestrians are pretty good about 1) being aware of their surroundings and 2) not blocking the entire road. The primary nuisance are other cyclists who like to ride side-by-side down the middle of the road without the least bit of interest in what's going on around them. Or at least not behind them. Similarly, there was this mother/daughter duo who thought that it'd be fun to stop half way up a hill and turn wide at the last moment in an effort to block the road. They succeeded.
I need to get a horn for my bike.
Ooh. Check this out. A chrome-plated triple-horn squeeze horn. And what would look better on a beautiful carbon fiber bike than a large, shiny, chrome horn?
