Scrooge

"Scrooge" isn't a title that I much object to. Not that I think I'm a scrooge. But the title doesn't bother me. What does bother me is saying, "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year's". I'm not capable of doing so, genuinely. Mostly, if greeted as such, I reply, "thank you".

What do these statements even mean? "Happy New Year's" = "the gregorian calendar year incremented again". And with "Merry Christmas": well, I don't think of Christmas as any more of a religious day then any other day of the year; and I'm not actively less joyful throughout the year than I am on Christmas day.

Yeah, just call me Scrooge.
