Sunday Traffic
The one annoyance with our commute to and from church is this highway that crosses paths with a mega church. The traffic isn’t bad in a rush hour sense. I just have Sunday morning, low traffic expectations borne of experiences decades ago that have no bearing on reality.
So, Easter rolls around and I’m bracing myself for epically bad traffic. Instead though? Nothing. No traffic at all. My first thought was that they had a sunrise service. My wife’s first thought was different. She said they probably had a Palm Friday service and decided that was enough for the week. “Go hunt for candy with your family, as we are instructed in the book of Hesitations.” It might feel like a jaded perspective, but when these same mega churches close when Christmas falls on Sunday so that everyone can “enjoy Christmas at home with their families,“ you know they’ve lost the plot. It is a slippery slope towards anything goes.
