I tore the old FTDX USB driver out of Static and dropped in libftdi, which works completely differently. A day spent wrestling quadrature data into the Chebyshev filter, partial Core Audio support, and a new trick: zero-pad the FFT input to fake a zoom.

What is it?

There's a crazy signal centered around 146.575MHz. My handheld can't make anything but noise of it, and the big antenna feeds a program that can't demodulate yet, so I'm left to wonder. Tomorrow I'll ask around for filtering tips. Until then, just pretty pictures.

Sexism

SDR Goodness

I finally noticed the little 9V DC input pins on the 144-148MHz down converter. Turns out it needs to be plugged in, so I deftly wired up a 9V battery to it.

Incompatible

Eating dinner while watching Dirty Jobs and drinking wine is not compatible. I stopped eating, not drinking. And speaking of wine, my liquor store now stocks palatable bottles for $3.99 to $4.99, so a case runs $48. My ability to cope with stress just improved substantially.
