Dryer Water Trap-What?

A dryer with a water trap you have to empty by hand, a coastline I kept hunting for in a town that has none, a hotel room carved out of solid rock, and a four a.m. wake up call. European appliances and landlocked Cappadocia both had lessons for me this weekend. You learn something new every day.

Dryer Water Trap-What?

Someone was doing laundry here at the corporate rental house. It wasn't working. The German co-worker spoke up.

Did you check the dryer's water trap?

That what?? Apparently European washers don't typically sport a spin cycle to "wring out" the clothes, and dryers aren't hooked up to drains, so they have water traps which have to be emptied. You learn something new every day....

Morning Exercise

I got in a walk this morning, heading in a slightly different direction from yesterday. I had checked aerial maps and determined there was no good way to get in a sea-side walk, so I didn't waste any time trying.

For next time though, I've found that I'm only about two miles from the Hagia Sophia mosque, so I'll maybe get that walk in as long as I can get out the door early – Maps says it'll take an hour to get there on foot.
