The Supportive Wife
I found this plate in the fridge, waiting for me, when I went upstairs wondering what I should eat for lunch. It's the little things that make the difference, but to be honest, putting together a lunch is hardly a "little thing". And S knew that I'd find something convenient instead of optimal for my present health and fitness goals, if left to my own devices.
I ended up supplementing it with some mackerel and then some roasted pecans. Delicious.
Looks at the Universe, Sees no God
I ran across this gem on Twitter. I'm not sure I have much to add to it. It feels like Dawkins should have posted to Reddit. His opinion would have been more welcome there.
Although, Dawkins isn't actually saying that Claude (Claudia?!?) is conscious – just that his mind is made up and unavailable for persuasion. Good for him, I guess.

My Four Year Old Tornado
A is four and a half years old. He is a bright, cheerful, kind and fun boy who can destroy the orderliness of a room with minimal effort in shockingly little time.
Lately he has been a bit fussy over the weirdest things. I approach changes in behavior much like one might approach looking for vitamin deficiencies to diagnose a health change. As he grows, his needs, wants and psychology changes, and I need to make sure I'm meeting his ever-growing and ever-changing needs. He was the "baby" of the family for four years, and now he is not, so maybe he's adjusting to that? I'm thinking some solo trips with me; maybe a surprise trip to get some ice cream or something will help – as a starting point.
