At this point it's impossible to believe Apple isn't just trolling the world. They never know which dimension to focus on: shaving microns off thinness while people beg for battery life. The iPhone peaked with the 13 Mini. Make a smaller phone, not a thinner one.
Why Our Dreams Are Visual
A theory holds that dreams exist so the visual cortex can defend its turf, keeping the occipital cortex active at night so neighboring senses do not muscle in during the dark. I wonder if frustration at a learning curve is me fighting my own diminishing plasticity.
Peace in the Home
My wife has an allergy to empty spaces; I really dislike clutter. Somehow we survive together. I came home from a church work day to find she'd decluttered the entire kitchen, but the real joy wasn't the aesthetics. It was the peaceful, warm household behind them.

From HyperCard to Gtk to Cocoa to UIKit, and now a from-scratch app in SwiftUI and Swift 6. Less code, sure, but I keep wondering if SwiftUI exists because it can rather than because it should, and whether it will just homogenize every app into the same three templates.

The Religion that Requires the Most Effort
Watching yet another SpaceX launch, it struck me: faking globes, satellites, and orbits now takes more effort than just doing them for real. Which makes Flat Earth, perhaps, the religion that requires the most faith of all. Unless it is all a simulation.
