GA to TN to GA to Paris

Delta could not decide how to get me to Istanbul: through Amsterdam, then Paris, then Dallas and London, then Paris again, depending on which agent I last spoke to. One rep fixed it; the next un-fixed it because, "it was weather related." I have now traveled 14 hours and not left my home state.

As depicted, this is not the correct race of the mom and unruly child in Atlanta. You'll have to use your imagination.

Work is taking me Istanbul for ten days. Ten packed days. There's no luxury and no downtime on this trip.

How to Train Your Child

The time to train your children for the first time IS NOT when you arrive in the airport. That seems to be what I'm witnessing. All of this makes me want to double down on my own parenting efforts; reconsider the areas that I let slide; reinforce the good behaviors; weed out the bad behaviors. Truly insane what these parents seem to be okay with. It's not just that the parent (the mom in this case) is okay with the behavior. She appears to be not okay with the child's behavior. She has tried several times to quell it, to no avail. The son finds her admonishment amusing but hardly authoritative.
