Seven Months of Daily Blog Posts

Seven months of weekday posts, by my count, since November 3, 2025. My blogging actually goes back to 2005, in simpler times. The purpose is clearer now: capture our day-to-day life in a way that is fun to re-read years later. Hello, grandkids!

Seven Months of Daily Blog Posts
J, keeping track of the screwdrivers, as my assistant technician.

Unless I accidentally overlooked a day, I think I've completed seven months of daily (M - F) blog posts. This started back on November 3, 2025.

Where to Start
I need to post something just to get started. These things will flow more naturally with practice. I spent years posting random thoughts and life updates to my blog. But was it just my blogging, or did the whole idea die with a whimper? It certainly fell out of vogue.

My occasional blogging started back on September, 2005 though. Life was definitely simpler back then.

This is not me giving in.
Xanga sucks. So, this is not me finally giving in; this is me having finally found a blog system that doesn’t completely suck. Boo yah. Now, to go put a link to blogspot on Xanga.... Google does all things well.

My blog post form and style is gradually sucking less. I have a more clearly formed purpose now than I did to start, which was mostly, "I have thoughts and I want to write them down somewhere." I am trying to be intentional about capturing our day-to-day lives in a way that'll be fun to re-read years down the road (if not for me, then maybe for my kids or their kids). Hello, grandkids! If K, H, J, A or W want to know what they were like as kids, they have to look no further than right here!

(Remember, kids, "farther" for physical distances; "further" for metaphorical distances.)

The kids, their antics, and our day-to-day lives seem to provide plenty of fodder worthy of recording, at least given this free medium. The bar is low.
