Work Wants to Know How Well We Can Swim

The retreat planner at work wants to know if we can swim, and how well. Like open ocean swimming confident? No context was provided. No questions answered. I'm picturing an engineering standup while treading water far from land.

Quitter Mentality

My alarm went off at 05:30 and I slumped back into bed. My body still feels a little broken. Rather than perform poorly at the gym and possibly make things worse, I'm skipping today. At least one of the kids has an as-yet-unfulfilled promise of going on a hike or something, so I'll make that happen just so I can stretch my legs.

Second Breakfast

My tummy started rumbling later in the morning, but too early in the morning to have a 2nd protein shake. S was wrapping up cleanup following providing french toast and cantaloupe for the kids. The last time I made fried eggs, I got chastised by H for not including him.

C: I'm going to fry some eggs....
J: I'll have one!
A: I want one.
J: I'll have two, actually.
H: One for me, please.
