Rain scrapped my trail plans, so I hiked the route I have named the calf burner. Then I gathered the kids to vote cartoons off their custom channel and we went from twenty-two down to twenty-one. Plus S out with friends, and a grill I luckily never had to uncover.

I'm a snobby connoisseur of software, and very little of it impresses me. Exhibit A: my Oura ring, banished to its charger, whose app omits my actual run from the suggested workout. Exhibit B: an Apple Watch that taps my wrist every five minutes to ask if I'm exercising. Yes. Still yes.
Caffeine in the Kombucha
My wife bailed on bedtime to sew and watch a cooking show, blaming caffeine in the kombucha. When the Apple TV keyboard prompt popped up on my iPad, I helpfully typed B-E-D-T-I-M-E. Maybe it was me. Maybe it was a super powerful alien race projecting its will across galaxies.
Exercise & Dangerous Journey
I ran the 5.5 mile round trip to fetch an Amazon package, down five pounds in two weeks. The cruelty of one meal a day: by mid-afternoon I'm in hunger torture, but once dinner finally lands I could almost take it or leave it. We also opened Dangerous Journey with the kids.
