Bathrobe Lady at the Post Office
On the way into church we stopped at the post office, where a prim, upper-class woman in her seventies strolled in wearing a thick white bathrobe. Strong Big Lebowski energy. Maybe she lost a bet with her book club, or maybe it is a hazing ritual to join. Old people can be weird.
It was Sunday morning. The older kids were still gone for the weekend. S, W and I were leaving the house to head to church, but first we had to stop by the post office to pick up my tithe checks. I was walking back to our car, mail in hand, as a lady in her 60s (maybe 70s?) was walking from her car to the post office. In her bathrobe. A thick, white, fluffy bathrobe. Unmistakable. It had strong vibes of The Dude in The Big Lebowski, except this lady seemed very prim and proper (bathrobe aside); upper class The Dude.
This is not a walk-around-in-your-bathrobe sort of neighborhood. Maybe she lost a bet with the other ladies in her book club? Or maybe it's a hazing ritual to join the book club? Old people can be weird.
